Patrick McGowan: Our Friend, Coach, Brother

On March 31, 2011, we lost one of the great ones... Patrick James McGowan, Jr. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Patrick knows we are alluding to the manner which he lived his life. Words like honor, respect, friendship and love embody this great man.

McGowan, 42, had more than 17,000 jumps spanning more than 20 years of parachuting all over the United States and the world. He was an internationally-known competitive formation skydiver and coach, and for more than 15 years jumped and has worked at Skydive Perris and other locations in that capacity and as an AFF instructor, tandem master, tunnel trainer and military team coach.

As tragic as Pat's death is to the parachuting community, his loss is far worse for his wife Blue and children Rose and James. They face a future not only without their exceptional husband and father but without the financial means to move on with their lives. As members of their skydiving family we will continue to help Blue and their children informally, and we are now asking you to join us in helping by making a contribution through PayPal to the Patrick McGowan Family Fund.
